Patients Rising Now signed onto a letter urging Governor Newsom of California to sign SB 912 into law as soon as possible. SB 912 would require private and public health plans to recognize and cover biomarker tests. The practice of biomarker testing is where a patient’s sample is sent off to a lab in order to both provide a diagnosis and plan a course of action for health. Biomarker testing has proven very useful as it drastically cuts down on wait-time and removes any threat of patient harm through attempted treatments.
SB 912 was received extremely favorably in both the California Assembly and Senate and was overwhelmingly passed through both chambers. It now awaits the Governor’s signature. SB 912 would make a world of difference for patients in terms of disease prevention and treatment. We wanted to make sure this important bill was signed into law as soon as possible and we encourage everyone to read the letter.
