Patients Rising Now, along with 27 other patient groups, sent a letter to Congressional leadership as well as Senate HELP committee and House E&C leadership urging support for generic drug policy riders. The 117th Congress will soon enter the final session period of the year. And, with other must-pass legislation likely to dominate the conversation, it’s going to take a concerted effort to encourage Congress to do more than the bare minimum. The letter expressed strong support for two bipartisan bills aimed at improving the ability for generic drugs to be approved by the FDA. Despite the deadline crunch for important bills, the ‘lame duck’ Congress still has the potential to enact legislation that would help patients, and Patients Rising Now wholeheartedly encourages doing so before the calendar resets. We encourage everyone to read the letter.
