Patients Rising Now joined 71 other organizations in signing on to a letter sent to HHS on the Notice of Benefits and Payment Parameters (NBPP) proposed rule for 2024. The proposed rule would increase access to health services under their current plans, improve the plan selection process, simplify the enrollment process, and more. There were, however, a number policy reforms that the patient community has long been calling for that were left out of the proposed rule, such as PBMs and health plans that designate certain drugs as non-essential and are therefore not counted towards a patient’s annual out-of-pocket maximum. The letter that Patients Rising Now signed onto called for these and other policy changes to be considered more strongly before the proposed rule moves forward towards finalization and implementation. Be sure to read the letter today!
