We sent a letter to New York Governor Kathy Hochul urging her not to delay in signing A1741-A into law. A1741-A passed in May of this year almost unanimously in the New York Assembly and Senate. The bill would prohibit copay accumulators and require that any third-party assistance count towards what a patient has to pay out-of-pocket. Copay accumulators are a tool used by Pharmacy Benefit Managers and are a large roadblock between patients and the treatment they need. A1741-A is an excellent bill to prevent this tactic and we thank the New York State Government for taking decisive action.
